Nancy & Fred T King Estate     [Community Endowment Fund]

A Gift to Last

Nancy and Fred King loved their adopted city of Lethbridge and through their legacy gift to the Lethbridge Community Foundation, will continue to contribute to their community. FoIlowing the deaths of Fred in 1986 and Nancy in 2005, the Nancy and Fred T. King Endowment was established to fund important community projects identified by the Foundation.

Independently, Nancy and Fred emigrated from England to Lethbridge and became an integral part of their new community. Fred King Motors was a Lethbridge landmark for many years on 3rd Avenue South at 11th St. Nancy came to Lethbridge in 1957 to join the nursing staff at St. Michael's Hospital.

In 1968, the couple married and took great joy in traveling, participating in numerous community activities, and caring for their much loved dog. They were active volunteers with many community organizations including the Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch and St. Augustine's Anglican Church.  Nancy loved to sing and was a long standing member of the Songbirds.

Long-time friends Dale and Kay Martin remember how important it was for Nancy and Fred to return their good fortune to the community. Through the Nancy and Fred King Endowment that will continue to happen forever.
