Computers Speed Up Paper Work

Imagine having to handwrite more than 250 discharge reports each year, then retype them if they need to be sent to other organizations or institutions. Addiction counselors at the South Country Treatment Centre have been in that situation for many years. The non-profit residential treatment centre helps people suffering from alcohol, drug and gaming addictions, working with clients from across the province.

"The new computers have enabled us to become so much more efficient," said Nadia Dykeman, Executive Assistant. "Using computers is excellent for proofreading and just makes everything faster and neater." She added that the four computers funded by the Lethbridge Community Foundation have enabled the organization to "get with the times" by using email and sharing files. "The computers have really improved the information flow."

"We just can't say enough about the Lethbridge Community Foundation's support," Nadia said. "We are so extremely proud of what they have done for us that we even put a thank you to them on the screensaver."
