  • In 2007, the Lethbridge Community Foundation distributed $313,405 in grants to approximately 86 charitable organizations across southwest Alberta.        

  • The Lethbridge Community Foundation is a collection of permanently endowed funds, established by donors from all walks of life, which are pooled and invested. The investment income earned is used to make grants to a wide range of community organizations.

  • The Lethbridge Community Foundation is currently made up of more than 110 endowment funds which will benefit our community in perpetuity.

  • Donors to the Lethbridge Community Foundation may choose their level of involvement with their fund and the distribution of the investment income.

  • The Lethbridge Community Foundation was established in 1966 by a group of visionary community leaders. Today the community foundation movement is the fastest-growing area of philanthropy in the country.

  • There are currently 12 community foundations in Alberta, and more than 170 across Canada.

  • The Lethbridge Community Foundation is a member of the Community Foundations of Canada.

  • The Lethbridge Community Foundation supports the local non-profit sector through a broad range of grants in the areas of: Culture, Education, Environment, Health History, Social need Community Service, Education and Employment, Health, Environment, Heritage, Arts and Culture, and Recreation.

  • In 2008, The Lethbridge Community Foundation surpassed the milestone of  approximately $5.3 million dollars granted to community organizations since 1966.


The Lethbridge Community Foundation is a permanent community endowment that is continually being built by generous donors with the investment income forever supporting charitable organizations in southwest Alberta.
