Community Grants 2008

The Lethbridge Community Foundation Board is pleased to announce the recipients of the Spring 2008 community grants. A total of $121,405 was awarded to 25 community organizations in southwestern Alberta for project proposals submitted for the February 1^st application deadline.

The Fall 2008 grant application deadline would normally be September 15^th. However the current volatility of the financial markets makes it uncertain whether there will be sufficient investment income available for a Fall 2008 grants program. The Board of Directors will assess the ongoing situation and an announcement will be made here later in the year.

The Lethbridge Community Foundation will sponsor an information session for organizations interested in applying for Charitable Status with the Canada Revenue Agency. The session will be provided by representatives of the Canada Revenue Agency.

This event is being cosponsored by the Friends of the Galt Museum and Archives.

The Buck Starts Here 2008

The Lethbridge Lodge Hotel has been booked for the 2008 'Buck Starts Here'. More details will be available as plans progress.

The event will take place over two days this year – Thursday November 21 and Friday November 21.

Report to the Community

The Report to the Community (2006) illustrates the impact that the Foundation has on the communities of southwestern Alberta and the many ways donors can make a difference. The 2007 report will be published in June 2008

Grant Application Form

The Fall grant application deadline will be determined in due course when the 2008 investment income returns are better known. Charitable organizations are always encouraged to speak to the Foundation staff (George Hall - 328-5297) before submitting an application.
